Stories in Focus is a community photography initiative dedicated to providing free professional images for students, small businesses, and local nonprofits while sharing the stories behind the people and organizations that shape our community.
Through portraiture and visual storytelling, this project aims to make professional photography more accessible and to highlight meaningful, human moments.
Supporting Local Nonprofits & Small Businesses
Many nonprofits and small organizations rely on strong visual content to connect with their communities, share their mission, and build trust. However, professional photography is often expensive and out of reach.
Through Stories in Focus, one organization is selected each month to receive complimentary photography services. This may include event coverage, team portraits, workspace imagery, or branded content for websites and social media.
In addition to delivering professional images, one selected photo may be paired with a short written story to highlight the people and purpose behind the organization.
The goal is simple: to support the work being done in our community and help it be seen.
Supporting Students Through Professional Headshots
Professional images play an important role in job applications, internships, scholarships, and college opportunities. However, not every student has access to professional photography.
Stories in Focus offers complimentary headshots for students who need professional images for resumes, applications, LinkedIn profiles, or career-related opportunities.
Each session is designed to help students present themselves confidently and professionally. With permission, one portrait may also be featured as part of the project’s storytelling initiative, highlighting the goals and aspirations behind the image.
Every student deserves the opportunity to be seen at their best.
